ICH County Rapporteurs Meeting Hungarian Open Air Museum in the 4th and 5th of November 2014

The meeting, which is intended to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss the current professional national and international issues of the ICH, has been organized again.
During the he two day long event, several trainings, workshops and moots were presented.
In each county of Hungary (19) an expert was entrusted from among the county seat museum’s staff, to coordinate and facilitate the promotion, the awareness-raising and give professional guidance to the communities. The specific tasks are to be delegated, managed and coordinated by the Department of ICH
Dr. Ibolya Bereczki the Mandatory Director of the Hungarian Open Air Museum officially opened the event with her speech, where she highlighted that the county rapperteurs are indispensable, because they are the connecting link towards the communities. Thanks to their extensive work, the National Inventory constantly expands with new elements.
After the nice opening part, Dr. Eszter Csonka-Takács, Director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Department of the Hungarian Open Air Museum summarized the previous year’s happenings and edifications, then thanked the county rapperteurs their annual work.
During the day, everybody shared their experiences connected with the pending nominations and annual professional reports about the connections and cooperation with the communities were also presented. The workshop of the first day provided a perfect frame to talk about the new (2014) elements on the National Inventory of ICH and the National Register of Best Safeguarding practices.
The main topic of the second day’s workshop were thematized around the depositories’, the Hungaricums’ and the intangible cultural heritage’s connections.
Dr. Lajos Kemecsi, Director of the Hungarian Ethnography Museum was talking about the national levels of identity, the work of the Hungaricum Committee, the structure of depositories and about the concept and definition of hungaricums.
In his presentatiton, Ferenc Laki, Professional Director of the Nyugat Pannon Kft. Explained and showed how the Cultural Capital Counts (CCC) Program functioning, and how the intangible heritage can be exploited.
